East Coast Swing (ECS) is a lively, upbeat partner dance that emerged in the 1940s, evolving from the Lindy Hop. With its signature triple-step rhythm and playful style, ECS became widely popular through the swing music of big band legends like Benny Goodman and Count Basie. The dance is characterized by its circular movements, spins, and energetic footwork, making it accessible and fun for dancers of all levels.
Rooted in the vibrant American swing era, East Coast Swing spread across dance halls and clubs, adapting over time but always retaining its joyful, carefree spirit. Today, it's a staple in social dance scenes, perfect for everything from rock ‘n’ roll to contemporary tunes — a timeless blend of rhythm, connection, and pure enjoyment.
